PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Everyone will need to wear masks and provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 3 days of each Sunday. You also may watch the service on a live stream in the courtyard or at home. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:
- require mask-wearing when indoors
- require either proof of Covid vaccination OR a negative Covid test from within the last three days. Please see the ushers for details
- run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:
- Tactus San Francisco will provide a prelude, “Kyrie” and “Sanctus” from Missa Ascendens Christus and Tomás Luis de Victoria (c. 1548 – 1611)
- Ben will welcome us to Celebration.
- Brenda Steinmetz-Vallenas will lead us in the Call to Celebration (from Iona)
- The opening song is, “Morning Has Broken”.
- Next, Brenda will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (from World Council of Churches),
- followed by Time with Children: a Godly Play story
- Next, there will be time for Invitations, then
- Tactus will present ”Non vos relinquam orphanos“ by William Byrd (1539/1540-1623)
- Brenda will lead us in a scripture lesson from Luke 8: 4-8.
- Talitha will preach a sermon
- Next is the hymn of response, “Now the Green Blade Riseth”,followed by a Pastoral Prayer.
- Offering plates will be passed, and Tactus will offer “If Ye Love Me” by Thomas Tallis (c.1505-1585)
- The closing hymn will be, “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending”, then
- Brenda will lead us in the Charge,
- We will receive the benediction,and finally, we will enjoy a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
