In Celebration this week:
- The prelude, Meditation from “Thais”, by Jules Massenet, will be offered by Rich Larsen, violin, and Kim Rankin, piano.
- Talitha will welcome folks to Celebration.
- Keith Geckeler will lead us in a Call to Celebration [from PC(USA)]
- The opening hymn is, “For All the Saints”,
- Keith will lead us in a Prayer of Reconciliation and Peace, (from the Church of Scotland),
- We will celebrate November birthdays,
- Then we will lift up names of people who have died, whom we are remembering on the ofrenda,
- The children will be dismissed to Godly Play,
- Keith will read 1 Corinthians 3:1-17,
- Ben will preach a sermon, “Generations of Builders”.
- Rich and Kim will provide a musical response, “Ashokan Farewell” by Jay Ungar
- Offering,
- Then we will celebrate communion and recite the Lord’s Prayer together after the prayer of thanksgiving,
- The closing hymn is “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and then
- Keith will lead us in the Charge and we will offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a postlude, “I’ll Fly Away”,
- Ushers will dismiss the congregation row by row.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
