In Celebration this week:
- Kim will provide a prelude,
- Ben will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Linda Spencer will lead us in a Call to Celebration (from Iona).
- The opening hymn is, “Shall We Gather at the River”,
- Linda will lead us in a prayer for peace (from the Church of Scotland),
- then she will read Mark 9:38-50.
- Talitha will preach a sermon, “Keep Your Hands To Yourself”.
- The hymn of response is, “O For a World”,
- Ben will lead us in prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “Soon and Very Soon”, and then
- Linda will lead us in the Charge and Ben will offer a benediction.
- Marcia will provide a postlude, “Fanfare in Bb” by Charles Ore.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
