On Sunday, May 7th at 7pm in the sanctuary, MPC will be hosting a screening of the inspiring documentary “The World Is My Country”. We hope you can join us.
“The World Is My Country” is an epic tale about a man named Garry Davis who had been a bomber pilot in World War II. After the war, he began a physical and spiritual odyssey by renouncing his US citizenship and declaring himself a citizen of the world. He cheerfully remained by choice a stateless man until he died in 2013 at age 91. As the most visible, the most vocal, and the most indefatigable person to ever declare himself a world citizen, he became an inspirational icon to peacemakers all over the world. The film’s producer/director, Arthur Kanegis, will be attending. This event is cosponsored by the Peace & Justice Steering Committee and the Democratic World Federalists. Ticket prices: $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12.
