Celebration Information

the MPC sanctuary during celebration

Are you wondering why we refer to our Sunday morning worship time as “Celebration?” Celebration does not begin or end Sunday morning. Rather, it is a way of being in the world. We celebrate God’s radically inclusive love – a love that knows no bounds; a love that cannot be contained; a love that embraces all of humanity; a love that knows us by name; a love that knows us intimately and loves us still. We celebrate the love God has for us by sharing it with each other and with the world.

Celebrating Safely, In Person and Online

We’re currently offering two ways to celebrate together: in person in the sanctuary, and online via zoom. To learn more about how this works, and how we’re taking action to keep everyone safe, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate .

What happens in Celebration

Worship at Montclair Presbyterian Church is designed to gather us in, remind us of what we celebrate, and send us out to share our celebration with the world. Our Sunday morning Celebration is vibrant, transforming, comforting, inspiring, and challenging. Through music, spoken word, preaching, and prayer, each person can discover the presence of God in her or his life and in the world. Our Sunday Celebrations have whimsical moments, reflective moments, touching moments, funny moments, and transformative moments. That’s why we keep gathering week after week as we seek to know God and each other more deeply. Our services last anywhere from 60 to 80 minutes.

We would love to have you join us. Our members come from Oakland, Berkeley, and other mostly East Bay communities and they represent all ages.

The first Sunday of every month is a celebration of Communion and all are welcome around the table.
